At My Icon Story, we love using our bespoke icon prints to celebrate amazing people and their achievements.
We heard about a group of fundraisers from the Bahamas who were making the long trip to the Scottish Highlands to complete the 100 mile West Highland Way walk. Why? Because Father Ernie Blues needed to raise money for his daughter’s life-saving heart surgery and decided to set up a charity walk to raise the funds. Ernie also found out there were 4 other young girls on the waiting list of Sassoon Bahamas Children’s Heart Foundation but with very little funds available. To cover the surgery needed to save these children, a minimum of $20,000 dollars would be needed. In fact, Ernie’s West Highland Way walk raised a phenomenal $33,000!!
Now in it’s second year, we were approached by Ernie’s eldest daughter Singer/Songwriter Chelsea Blues who loved the bespoke and celebratory nature of My Icon Story prints. So we decided to design and gift Chelsea’s father a Bahamas to Fort William icon print to celebrate the inspiring fundraising efforts and achievement.
Below is an image of the design!
We sent the print to Fort William (the end of the West Highland Way walk) and Chelsea presented it to her Father and younger sister whom the walk was originally in purpose of.
We’re so proud and chuffed to have had this amazing opportunity and use My Icon Story in a beautifully unique way.
